Project Accountant

Location: Dallas, TX

6 month contract - 40hrs/week

Hybrid work environment - 2 days (Tuesday & Wednesday), FT in-office for training.

About the Role

You'll play a key financial role on a large-scale internal technology project, keeping budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting accurate and on track. Working closely with project managers and stakeholders, you'll translate complex financial data into clear insights that support informed decision-making. Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

• Support financial planning for the project, including time recording and valuation, capitalization, and PO forecasting and actuals

Variance Analysis

• Investigate variances between budgeted and actual costs and deliver clear insights to project managers

Collaboration

• Partner with project managers and stakeholders to provide timely financial information and advance project goals

Reporting

• Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and cost estimates using the organization's project management tools

Compliance

• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards, particularly those related to internally developed technology accounting
• Review contracts and report on project cost performance as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in project accounting or a related field
• Proficiency in SAP (required); experience with Apptio One or Target Process is an asset
• Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
• Excellent communication abilities and comfort working cross-functionally
