Central Washington University is recruiting a Program Coordinator to join our Parking Services team in Ellensburg, Washington. This role is an important member of our team as they coordinate daily parking operations and compliance, supports students and staff with parking services, and helps maintain a safe, well-organized campus environment for the University. The Role:

The Program Coordinator will coordinate the daily permit process, parking citation appeal process, citation payment process and office operations for parking services program. The position will independently advise students, university staff and public regarding parking operations, policies, and procedures. The position will ensure parking policies and procedures are followed in the daily operation of the office.

Job Duties

Coordinate Parking Services Permit/Appeal Operation:
- Coordinate operations for the parking services program including daily permits and citation payments: Responsible for providing compliance information, receiving payments, issuing permits, and entering data in system(s). Establish office procedures, standards, priorities, and deadlines. Authorize exceptions if needed
- Independently advise students, university staff and public regarding parking operations, policies, and procedures. Typically, will provide extensive initial contact with customers at the front counter
- Coordinate the parking citation appeal process: Provide information regarding the appeal process. Obtain appellant's past history, prepare parking pictures for review and prepare relevant data for the appeal board. Coordinate meetings among all constituents involved. Discuss any concerns or waivers authorized. Process (track) all appeals using the system. Attend board meetings and take notes. Record decisions and apply decisions in the system generating letters to ensure compliance by the department, court protocol and to provide rights to appellant
- Balance daily transactions and prepare bank deposits; May deposit money as needed
- Exercise independent judgement while interpreting and applying the parking rules and advising students/staff and general public of those rules
- Ensure parking policies and procedures are followed in the daily operation of the office
- Cross train appropriate staff to ensure appropriate program coverage
- Monitor program activities in relation to established program goals
- Attend meetings as the program representative
- Provide information to Cashier's office on current prices and citations 

Department Support: 
Attend meetings, record minutes, compose edit and type letters for the department 
- Ensure students have necessary resources
- Assist in review of policy and potential issues that concern parking operations
- Assist in directing the work of students; serve as mentor, coach, and leader; and resolve complaints or issues
- Actively engage in recruitment and hiring new student employees

Website, Reports, Database:
Maintain the parking website updating and developing information for Central Today
- Develop and maintain reports utilizing the parking computer management system, word processing software and spreadsheet software 
- Coordinate the database between the parking system and student database MyCWU

-Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working records management and reporting systems
  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive information and records
  • Experience utilizing computer software such as MS Office to create and edit documents
  • Experience utilizing e-mail software to send/receive email and schedule appointments
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task while dealing with frequent distractions
  • Demonstrated ability and/or experience working collaboratively with students and/or colleagues to foster a supportive and effective learning and work environment
  • OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Parking Services experience
  • Experience maintaining, implementing, and updating web pages
  • Knowledge of Revised Code of Washington (RCWs), Washington Administrative Code (WACs), and University policies, procedures, and practices
  • Demonstrated participation in programs designed to promote student success
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for students through various activities

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Salary: This position is based on the range 41 of the Washington State Classification Listing, which has a minimum annual salary of $43,980 and maximum annual salary of $58,584. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. 

Schedule/Appointment: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 hour lunch)

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions.  It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer workstation for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records.  Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required.
