Financial Program Coordinator
About the Opportunity
Our client, a mission‑driven nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families build financial stability and access economic opportunity, is seeking a Financial Capability Program Coordinator. This role supports community members through financial education, FAFSA assistance, and college access programming—while also collaborating with tax assistance services during tax season.

Key Responsibilities for the Financial Program Coordinator:
Program Delivery & Client Support
- Facilitate engaging financial literacy workshops for youth, adults, and families using established curricula.
- Provide one‑on‑one FAFSA assistance and support clients with basic financial questions, forms, and planning.
- Connect clients with appropriate community resources to help them achieve financial and educational goals.
- Conduct follow‑ups related to FAFSA documentation, verification, and general support needs.
Program Coordination & Logistics
- Schedule workshops and events; manage calendars and partner-facing communication.
- Prepare materials, presentations, handouts, and supplies for in‑person and virtual sessions.
- Provide technical support for virtual workshops.
- Maintain organized systems for curriculum, materials, and documentation.
- Assist with updates to program resources, templates, and engagement tools.
Partner Support & Communication
- Serve as a primary contact for schools, agencies, and community partners.
- Communicate promptly regarding scheduling, workshop details, and follow‑up needs.
- Represent our client at outreach events, presentations, and partner meetings.
- Support partner onboarding and ensure seamless logistics.
Tax Assistance Program Collaboration (20%)
- Support a tax site during tax season, including client intake and workflow coordination.
- Assist with follow‑up on rejected or incomplete tax returns and help clients gather missing information.
- Respond to off‑season client inquiries and direct them to the appropriate team members.
- Complete required IRS training and certifications relevant to the role.
Qualifications for the Financial Program Coordinator:
- 1–3 years of experience in program coordination, education, outreach, customer service, or related nonprofit/community work.
- Strong public speaking and facilitation skills; comfortable engaging with diverse audiences.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., Acuity), virtual workshop platforms (e.g., VHub), and general office software.
- Ability to work some evenings or Saturdays as needed.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and serving diverse Chicago communities.
- Ability to travel locally to partner sites (mileage reimbursement provided per policy).
