Functional Analyst – SAP Production Planning (PP)

Location: Hazelwood, MO
Work Model: Hybrid (2–3 days per week onsite)
Remote Flexibility:
Candidates outside this location may work remotely with periodic hybrid presence, but preference is given to those located near Boeing sites for easier onsite collaboration.

The Functional Analyst will play a key role in supporting and implementing SAP Production Planning (PP) solutions within an S/4HANA environment. This role requires deep functional expertise, strong analytical skills, and hands-on configuration experience. The ideal candidate excels in collaboration and will work closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, developers, and system integrators to deliver high-quality SAP projects and enhancements.

Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Collaboration

• Conduct and participate in workshops to gather requirements and support end-to-end process solutioning.

• Work with cross-functional stakeholders including business SMEs, architects, developers, and vendor consultants to analyze processes and propose improvements.

SAP Configuration & Implementation

• Identify and design complex SAP PP configuration solutions.

• Perform full-cycle configuration aligned with business needs and clean-core best practices.

• Provide ongoing support for SAP projects, enhancements, and production issues.

Documentation & Specifications

• Create and maintain documentation such as:

  • Business Process Documents (BPDs)

  • Process Flows

  • Key Decision Documents (KDDs)

  • Configuration Design Documents (CDD)

  • Functional Design Specifications (FDS)

  • WRICEF documentation

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Translate functional requirements into detailed application design.

• Coordinate development activities with the technical team.

• Prepare test plans and scripts; perform unit, integration, and regression testing.

• Lead root-cause analysis and support issue resolution during test cycles.

Tools, Methodologies & Delivery

• Utilize SAP Solution Manager and Signavio for process modeling and documentation.

• Apply SAP Activate methodology and Agile/SAFe practices in project delivery.

• Contribute to project planning, timelines, and milestone management.

• Collaborate with SAP Project Systems teams and work within S/4HANA and Fiori frameworks.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

• 10+ years of SAP PP consulting experience

• 4+ years of S/4HANA Production Planning experience

• Expertise with SAP S/4HANA PP and QM modules

• Minimum 2 full end-to-end S/4HANA implementations

• Experience in large, complex enterprise environments

• Experience with interfaces, user exits, batch jobs, and standard SAP reporting

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced SAP PP Expertise

• Experience across core PP areas: planning, demand management, MRP, material master, BOMS, routing, capacity leveling, scrap, backflush, and PP configuration.

• Experience with:

  • MRP areas

  • Lot sizing procedures

  • Strategy groups

  • Stock requirements

  • Fiori applications

  • Advanced routing and evaluations

Manufacturing & Industry Experience

• Aerospace and Defense industry experience (preferred)

• Experience in discrete and repetitive manufacturing

• Knowledge of special planning procedures

• Experience with central functions: ECM/OCM/Batch

Cross-Functional Integration

• Integration experience with:

  • SAP SD

  • SAP MM

  • SAP EWM

  • SAP FICO

  • SAP QM

  • SAP PM

• Experience with WBS structures

• Experience with S4 HANA PPDS

Additional Skills

• Experience with SAP Quality Management

• Experience with IBP or similar planning tools (plus)

• SAP certifications in S/4 PP, QM, or MM (preferred)

• Bachelor's degree or higher
