Autonomous Medical Devices Incorporated (AMDI) is a California-based company employing a world class team of engineers, scientists, clinicians, manufacturing and quality/regulatory experts dedicated to the development and manufacture of best in class diagnostic devices using innovative technology, factory automation, and cloud connectivity. AMDI is headquartered in Santa Ana, CA where it manufactures the Fast PCR Mini Respiratory Panel in an ISO:13485 / MDSAP certified 110,000 square foot facility.


Summary of Position

Are you a high-impact leader ready to take a breakthrough medical device from research and development to commercialization? We are seeking a Production Supervisor who doesn’t just follow a process but perfects it as we scale for our commercial launch!

At AMDI, you won’t just be managing a floor; you will be the architect of our production excellence. As we pivot from R&D to full-scale manufacturing, you will be the driving force behind our safety, quality, and output standards. This is a role designed for a leader who wants to own their impact today and grow with our company.

Location: This is an onsite position located at our Santa Ana, CA office. Candidates living within a 25 mile range preferred.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain high level of visibility with assembly/production staff. Use hands-on approach to communicate daily and involve assembly/production staff in problem solving.
  • Develop a high-performance work team with great worker morale, satisfaction, and performance.
  • Help assembly/production staff succeed through performance management. Provide coaching and performance communication to support development.
  • Review general status of production schedules to identify and resolve problems.
  • Ensure the desired product quality levels are achieved through use of standard work and training to those standards, training in operation and inspection techniques, and use of tools/data.
  • Support and implement new, customer-focused processes in accordance with lean principles and practices. Provide training and coaching to improve standard work, work center organization, and housekeeping. 
  • Support and foster an environment of continuous improvement by encouraging assembly/production staff to challenge existing processes and implement solutions that enhance the overall effectiveness of the operation.
  • Support assembly/production staff in understanding company policies and practices.
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Take notice of process related problems and support production staff in taking corrective action to improve the overall performance of the team.
  • Work closely with Process Development on implementation of new equipment and training
  • Take on or assist with other tasks/projects as the need arise.


Qualifications Required for Position

  • Minimum of an Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing operations industry experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervising production employees within a manufacturing operation. 
  • Previous experience in manufacturing operations with demonstrated ability to acquire and apply manufacturing principles is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Experience working within an ISO-13485 Operation.
  • Ability to collaborate with various departments and levels within the Company.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, guests, vendors and team members
  • Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of building systems
  • Great time management, organization and prioritization abilities
  • Keen attention to detail and efficient problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PPT)
  • NetSuite or similar ERP system experience 
  • Experience in high volume/high mix, multi-shift manufacturing environment


Work Environment

  • This position will require work to be done in a clean room environment that is humidity controlled with Clean Room gowning required.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required to be worn at some stations.
 

Salary Range

The estimated base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $90,000 annually. If the level of the role changes during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. The actual base salary offered will be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, and level of education attained.
