Jacuzzi Group, a leading manufacturer of hot tubs, swim spas, baths, showers, saunas, and pool equipment, is seeking a passionate & driven Production Supervisor. The Production Supervisor role exists to supervise the daily Foaming department operations and staff accordingly to meet established safety, quality, and department efficiency targets in order to meet production demands. The person in this role is responsible for building positive employee relations, and will be accountable for the onboarding, training, and coaching of their teams in order to maximize team performance. This person should demonstrate an ability to lead, motivate, and inspire others to achieve results. Please note this is for the first shift.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a team (27-30 employees over 3 shifts) that are applying foam to bath shelves and shower pans.
- Supervise a team that is responsible for:
- producing high quality work with minimum scrap
- inspecting units to ensure that quality standards are met
- ensuring optimum functioning of all machines, tools, and equipment
- determining the root cause of any problems
- Interview job applicants, hire new team members, and onboard new employees effectively to facilitate career growth and individual, team, and departmental success.
- Responsible for suggesting methods to improve area operations, efficiency, and service to both internal and external customers.
- Be available for employees and resolve employee concerns timely; provide appropriate coaching, counseling, direction and resolution where necessary.
- Works with Leads in overseeing and coordinating the work of department employees
- Ensures department meets production schedule daily.
- Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results to management.
- Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of equipment and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Performs accident investigations and determines root cause and solution of incident.
- Tracks absenteeism and timekeeping.
- Answers and addresses questions, issues, and requests from other department supervisors, manufacturing engineers, operations management, and other duties as required.
- Provides timely information to employees, management, Human Resources and other areas as required (i.e. documentation, reports)
- Other duties may be assigned by Manager
Requirements
Experience required:
- 3+ years of previous manufacturing experience required; bonus points for experience with Foaming
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisor role
- Technical Abilities: MS Office (proficient in Excel, Powerpoint & Word); timekeeping systems; ERP software
- Able to lift 50+ pounds
Degree/Certifications/Languages:
- High School Diploma; Associates Degree in Business or related field preferred, or comparable work experience
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods - preferred
- Bilingual (Conversational Spanish) Preferred
