- Position Type: Contract

- Core Hours: 7:00am–3:00pm
- Overtime: Up to 10 hours per day and every other weekend
- Orientation: First week on 1st shift
Job Summary:
The Production Planner is responsible for establishing and maintaining a valid production schedule to optimize throughput, minimize manufacturing cycle time, reduce inventory, and achieve on-time delivery goals.
This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, analytical expertise, and a continuous improvement mindset to ensure efficient resource utilization and material flow across the factory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, maintain, and execute valid production schedules
- Level load daily production schedules by analyzing resource capacity and constraints
- Optimize throughput while minimizing cycle time and inventory
- Assist Master Production Scheduler (MPS) in maintaining forecast and safety stock levels
- Direct daily workflow (WIP – work in process) through report analysis and cross-functional input
- Align and set priorities across shared factory resources to maximize efficiency
- Analyze daily parts/material data to establish and meet customer delivery requirements
- Communicate with Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance, and Purchasing teams
- Own key manufacturing metrics including OTTC, throughput, past due order reduction, and on-time delivery
- Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement events, kaizens, and workshops
- Develop and implement improved scheduling procedures and techniques
- Establish optimal inventory levels using Just-In-Time inventory philosophies
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Must reside within 50-mile radius of Waukesha, WI (relocation not offered)
- Knowledge of product and manufacturing processes
- Strong project management and facilitation skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Understanding of problem-solving methods (A3, 8D, root cause analysis)
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
Nice-to-Have Experience:
- APICS CPIM Certification
- SAP ECC/MRP planning and/or purchasing module experience
- Lean/Six Sigma experience (Kanban, pull systems, consignment)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (DMAIC, Kaizen, DOE, Pareto, SPC, Process Mapping)
- Analytical software program experience
