JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Material Handler is responsible for safely handling, transportation, and staging raw materials, components, and finished goods to support manufacturing operations. This role ensure and efficient flow of materials within the facility while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Load, unload, transport and stage raw materials and finished products within the production area.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Supply production lines with necessary materials and remove finished products as needed.
- Verify and maintain accurate records of material movement, inventory levels, and material usage.
- Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory checks to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Properly label, store and handle all materials according to company and safety standards.
- Follow company procedures for handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area, adhering to 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
- Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Leads and team members to ensure continuous production flow.
- Identify and report any material shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
- Comply with safety policies, regulations, and guidelines including PPE usage and OSHA standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience manufacturing environment a plus.
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, noisy and industrial environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and warehouse procedure
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Must be able to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, heat, and machinery.
- May require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Position requires approximately 12 hours of working in extreme temperatures.
- Position requires approximately 12 hours per day standing and/or walking.
- Full-time, with flexibility to address operational needs during non-standards hours.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
