Job Details

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while meeting quality, food safety, and company performance standards. This role requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Key responsibilities include:

Plan, manage, and execute production schedules to meet customer demand and business objectives
Optimize labor, equipment, and materials to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
Ensure production equipment and machinery are production-ready in coordination with maintenance and engineering teams
Lead and develop production line supervisors to achieve production, labor, and usage targets in accordance with company specifications
Allocate and manage labor resources while ensuring employees are properly trained and qualified for assigned tasks
Maintain responsibility for food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance across all production activities
Oversee cleanliness and sanitation of all production areas in accordance with food safety and company standards
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, corporate policies, and all applicable safety requirements
Promote and support a strong safety culture, ensuring safety awareness, training, and programs are actively maintained
Monitor ingredient usage to ensure accuracy, quality standards, and cost control objectives are met
Communicate critical operational information across all levels and shifts of plant management
Track and report labor and ingredient usage for accurate costing, traceability, and recall readiness
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, cost reduction, and product quality; share key performance metrics with supervisors
Maintain adherence to budgetary, operational, and performance standards
Perform physical aspects of the role as required (see physical requirements)
Complete additional duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Food Science, Agricultural Sciences, Natural Sciences, or a related field
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Minimum of 5 years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience
Strong understanding of continuous improvement principles and lean manufacturing practices
