The Production Engineer II supports production activities within the manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for maintaining SNF Holding Company’s quality and safety standards while driving improvements in overall equipment effectiveness at the lowest possible operational cost.

The position provides critical process troubleshooting and improvement support to operators, managers, and engineering teams. Additionally, the Production Engineer II utilizes Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to facilitate continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.


Responsibilities

  • Monitoring equipment and equipment logs to ensure the plants can meet quality, regulatory, and production requirements. Report any deficiencies /nonconformities to the Flocryl Management Team.
  • Working closely with the site engineering group to oversee the Flocryl management of change (MOC) system, from MOC generation to completion (this includes conducting pre-startup safety reviews, training, SOP modifications, equipment list updates, etc.).
  • Assisting the Plant and Production Managers with process troubleshooting.
  • Performing incident root cause analysis and leading the incident investigation team.
  • Tracking open action items from incidents, audits, inspections, PHA’s, and other findings.
  • Generating the required isolation drawings for process equipment.
  • Working with the site engineering group to maintain the accuracy of the Plants’ P&IDs.
  • Supporting the SNF RCMS policy and principles through the effective execution of each program and procedure that affects the continuing safety of each stakeholder, our impact on the environment, and the security of our stakeholders, site, raw materials, and finished products.
  • Facilitate/support continuous improvement, safety, and production-related projects.
  • Provide support for R&D trials.
  • Develop, maintain, and update procedures.
  • Provide technical training for operators, supervisors, and managers.
  • Develop/improve/sustain the preventive maintenance and Total Product Maintenance programs.
  • Support Plant start-ups as required.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the company’s products, customers, and proprietary information.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree - BS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of chemical manufacturing experience is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Hands-on experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) Yokogawa is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong orientation to team development.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills including strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to participate effectively in business planning, and to arrive at sound decisions designed to produce effective results.
  • Ability to write procedures clearly and concisely.
  • Mechanical/troubleshooting skills and a high degree of safety awareness.
  • OSHA PSM covered chemical manufacturing experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma exposure.
  • Ability to address issues, follow up, and implement solutions as required.
