Job Title: Product Owner
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma

Type: Contract
Compensation: $48 - $57 hourly
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid
Hours: M-F (8-5) with some evenings and weekends as needed

The Product Owner is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP solutions to support the Accounting organization. This role serves as the primary liaison between Accounting stakeholders, IT, SAP functional/technical teams, and external partners to ensure SAP features, integrations, and enhancements align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Product Owner for SAP capabilities supporting Accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and related financial processes.
  • Define the product vision, roadmap, and success metrics that support Accounting operational goals.
  • Translate Accounting business needs into well-defined user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.

SAP Implementation & Integration

  • Partner with SAP implementation teams to ensure system design aligns with end-to-end Accounting workflows.
  • Support data migration activities including validation, reconciliation, and defect resolution.
  • Oversee integration requirements between SAP and other enterprise systems such as payroll, banking, reporting tools, or legacy ERPs.
  • Facilitate system configuration reviews, functional testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • Work closely with Accounting leadership to understand business needs and ensure SAP capabilities meet compliance, audit, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Act as the bridge between Accounting users and IT/technical teams, ensuring clear communication and shared expectations.
  • Lead workshops, process mapping sessions, and change-management activities to support system adoption.
  • Maintain a prioritized, groomed product backlog that reflects business value, technical constraints, and implementation timelines.
  • Evaluate stakeholder requests and make decisions that balance long-term product health with immediate business needs.
  • Coordinate with Scrum Master and agile teams to deliver features in iterative cycles.
  • Assist with the development of training materials, user guides, and documentation for Accounting teams.
  • Provide go-live and post-go-live support to ensure smooth transitions and issue resolution.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role supporting enterprise systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Experience with SAP (S/4HANA preferred) in a functional or product capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to document requirements, create user stories, and manage a product backlog.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with SAP implementation or ERP migrations.
