Product Manager – Critical Power Solutions (Batteries & DC Technologies)

Position Summary

MEPPI’s Critical Power Solutions Division (CPSD) is seeking a Product Manager to lead the planning, development, launch, and lifecycle management of products and services across the CPSD portfolio. This role supports both Engineered Solutions and Standard Solutions and partners closely with engineering, sales, service, and marketing teams to drive product success.

A key focus of this role includes battery and DC technologies used in UPS systems, supporting the growing demand for high-reliability power infrastructure in AI-driven data centers and next-generation digital environments. This position plays a critical role in shaping product strategy, aligning with market needs, and ensuring competitive positioning.

What You’ll Do

Product Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Lead product development: Drive the identification, development, and evolution of products across the CPSD portfolio, including Engineered and Standard Solutions
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts: Partner with MEPPI, TMEIC, and technology partners to plan and execute product development initiatives
  • Lead negotiations: Drive technical and commercial negotiations with technology partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Build business cases: Develop and present investment proposals for new products, services, and strategic initiatives, including support for Service Center Division (SCD) service development
  • Manage lifecycle activities: Oversee product enhancements, upgrades, obsolescence planning, and competitive positioning

Market Research & Customer Insights

  • Analyze market trends: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to guide product strategy and roadmap decisions
  • Capture customer voice: Engage with customers through surveys, focus groups, and industry interactions to identify needs and opportunities
  • Maintain market visibility: Build relationships with key industry professionals and stay current through publications and industry engagement
  • Monitor industry dynamics: Stay informed on trends such as AI-driven data centers, energy storage, and evolving UPS technologies

Product Launch & Marketing

  • Lead product launches: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Service teams to successfully bring new products to market
  • Develop marketing content: Oversee the creation of product materials, application content, and customer case studies for digital and traditional channels
  • Enable sales teams: Support internal training and develop tools that drive effective product positioning and sales execution
  • Drive lead generation: Partner with divisional and corporate marketing teams to design and execute product promotion and demand generation campaigns

Sales & Customer Support

  • Provide technical expertise: Support sales teams and channel partners with product knowledge and application guidance
  • Engage customers: Deliver presentations, webinars, and participate in industry events to showcase solutions
  • Support solution development: Collaborate with sales and application engineering teams to address customer requirements and identify opportunities

Planning, Pricing & Performance Monitoring

  • Manage pricing strategy: Develop and maintain portions of the CPSD price book, including product configurations, catalog numbers, pricing structures, and descriptions
  • Track and analyze performance: Review activity reports and financial statements to evaluate progress against product-based sales objectives
  • Adjust strategy: Partner with Sales, Inside Sales, and Service teams to refine plans and align with current business conditions
  • Leverage data & insights: Develop and evolve business intelligence tools and reporting to identify new opportunities, market dynamics, and strategic direction

Cross-Functional Execution & Leadership

  • Drive alignment: Collaborate with divisional teams to review project progress, timelines, and key deliverables
  • Resolve challenges: Assess and resolve technical and commercial issues, constraints, and scope changes as needed
  • Represent the division: Build strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and external partners while promoting a positive and professional image of CPSD

Compliance & Standards

  • Support QSE initiatives: Understand and promote MEPPI’s Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies and their impact on the business

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of experience in industrial sales and marketing of technical capital goods and related services, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret market and financial data.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage customers, internal teams, and industry stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Knowledge of UPS systems, battery technologies, or DC power systems is highly desirable.
