Introduction

This role offers a unique and challenging experience combining electrical, mechanical, styling, software, and vehicle-level system performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
- Previous experience related to the development of switches or other electrical/electronic components for automotive applications
- Experience in Design and Release project engineering with at least 3 years of experience related to the development of electromechanical components
- Ability to work independently without close supervision; self-starter
- Experience working with/within a large, diverse cross-functional team
- Program/Project and supplier management and negotiation experience
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Program / Project Management experience from inception to launch
- Analytical skills in applying disciplines in the product development process
- Leadership and communication skills to guide various levels of team members
- MS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Work within a cross-functional team including suppliers, program teams, studio, ergonomics, and purchasing
- Utilize core engineering documents and design rules to lead Full-Service Supplier delivery of DFMEA, DVP&Rs, 8D’s, and other program-specific documents
- Create component specifications, quality documents, and drawings with the Full-Service Supplier
- Conduct technical design reviews with the component supplier
- Support and generate development of functional, engineering, and diagnostic specifications
- Work closely with suppliers and quality groups to understand and improve concerns
- Ensure cost targets are met and cost-efficient products are achieved
- Lead component development, release, and concerns resolution using Ford Product Development tools
- Support vehicle/program launch as needed
- Some travel required to support Ford Assembly Plants and/or Supplier facilities, especially during the Program Launch phase
- Continuously improve the design and release process by enhancing requirements based on lessons learned
