Product Development Tech – Medical Devices

Location: Brea, CA
Pay Rate: $33.00 – $41.00/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM, on-site
Interview: In-person

Position Summary

We are seeking a Product Development Tech to join our Brea, CA facility. This role involves completing routine technical tasks, supporting engineers, and developing solutions to routine technical problems within a defined scope. The technician will primarily interact with supervisors, project leaders, and other professionals within the unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, including lab or material test results and engineering design changes
  • Produce engineering documents, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, schematics)
  • Prepare summaries and quantitative analyses
  • Complete assigned technical tasks and provide support to engineers
  • Assist in scoping equipment for use and performing qualifications
  • Perform general lab functions, including calibration, safety procedures, and routine equipment maintenance
  • Identify and report factors that may impact project progress
  • Develop prototype processes and test set-ups
  • Execute designed test protocols and conduct testing
  • Document and communicate test results effectively
  • Handle test samples and chemicals used for conditioning and testing

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a lab environment (corporate or school) or as a technician in a regulated environment
  • Experience following written procedures and collaborating in a team setting
  • Experience working with Medical Devices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in a technical field
  • 2–4 years of laboratory or R&D experience
  • Ability to understand and execute designed test procedures
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with personal computers
  • Ability to develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope
  • Capability to train lower-level technicians
