TEM / Metrology Process Technician

Location: Hillsboro, OR
Pay Rate: $28.50/hour
Schedule: Day Shift or Night Shift (compressed schedules available)


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced TEM / Metrology Process Technician to join our semiconductor manufacturing team. This role involves performing technical tests and experiments for process engineering while operating sophisticated metrology equipment to optimize manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will work in a high-tech cleanroom environment, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot complex process and integration challenges.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Operations:

  • Perform technical tests and experiments for process engineering initiatives
  • Set up and operate advanced process equipment for manufacturing optimization
  • Operate metrology tools including particle counters, film thickness measurement equipment, and other specialized instruments
  • Qualify process equipment and optimize manufacturing processes through data analysis

Process Management:

  • Prepare comprehensive records, charts, and graphs documenting test results
  • Adjust hardware and software parameters to resolve issues and execute experiments
  • Perform preventative and unscheduled maintenance on critical process equipment
  • Conduct minor electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on manufacturing equipment

Collaboration & Problem-Solving:

  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve process and integration problems
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization projects
  • Support manufacturing operations through technical expertise and hands-on problem-solving

Qualifications

Required Experience & Education:

  • Experience: 3-4 years of semiconductor processing experience in thin film deposition or etch processes
  • Environment: Preferably in high-volume manufacturing facility
  • Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience

Technical Skills:

  • Extensive experience troubleshooting and maintaining vacuum-based processing equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
  • Experience working in cleanroom environments

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated with strong technical and hands-on skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Cleanroom Environment:

  • Work performed in controlled cleanroom environment with specific garment requirements
  • Extended periods wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, safety shoes, and bump cap
  • Ability to wear cleanroom garments for lengthy periods

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 35 pounds
  • Work in confined areas, awkward positions, and elevated locations
  • Frequent bending, stooping, crawling, and climbing as required
  • Walking up to 10,000+ steps per 12-hour shift
  • Navigate multiple flights of stairs regularly

Safety Requirements:

  • Follow proper industry safety procedures when working with chemicals, electrical currents, high voltage, and moving mechanical parts
  • Consistent use of required PPE and safety protocols
  • Work with potentially hazardous materials including radiation exposure

Vision Requirements:

  • Close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision capabilities
  • Strong depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Attention to fine detail in technical measurements

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel to TEL factories, training facilities, and customer locations
  • Some overnight travel may be required
