Process Technician II
  • Location: Maple Grove, MN
Job Purpose
Works under limited supervision assisting PD engineers, scientists, and/or teams in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment.

Experience & Technical Requirements
  • Experience with metrology, specifically developing dimensional measurement methods for manufactured medical device products.
  • Prior experience creating measurement programs with measurement systems.
  • For this role, programming Keyence IM, Keyence LM, and Visicon equipment would be most helpful.
  • Prior experience with other measurement systems is also helpful, including:
    • SmartScope
    • CMM (Zeiss, Hexagon)
    • CT Scanner
    • O-Inspect
    • Keyence VK, VR, VH, VL, XGX
  • Experience developing measurement recipes using measurement equipment.
  • Familiarity with different software tools and best practices when developing inspection recipes, including:
    • Use of datums
    • Pattern matching tools
    • Determining when automated versus operator-assisted inspections are best
  • Print interpretation experience, including reviewing tooling and component prints and understanding inspection requirements.
    • Understanding of GD&T inspection requirements is a plus.
  • Data analysis experience, including:
    • Determining pass/fail disposition of parts based on measurement results
    • Sorting measurement data in Microsoft Excel
    • Calculating simple statistics (min/max/average)
    • Using conditional formatting and pivot tables
    • Experience with Minitab is a plus
  • Experimentation experience conducting experiments, varying process inputs, and testing different outputs.
  • Fixture design experience working with CAD designers to design fixtures for:
    • Processing parts on a production line
    • Positioning parts for inspection
    • Experience designing in SolidWorks is a plus
  • Documentation experience writing:
    • Work instructions
    • Inspection reports
    • Tooling qualification documents
    • Recipe qualification documents
    • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Teamwork experience working in a manufacturing setting to achieve project goals.
    • Ability to take work direction from engineers with minimal oversight
    • Collaboration with technicians, engineers, and operators to determine next steps on projects

Qualifications
  • AA Degree or equivalent work experience in a related discipline, with 1–3 years of related experience
  • Experience programming Keyence IM, Keyence LM, and Visicon
  • Experience conducting GR&R tests
