Process Automation Engineer

Join our dynamic maintenance team at a leading steel manufacturing facility in Pueblo, Colorado, where you will spearhead the creation and optimization of control systems to drive production efficiency and equipment performance. Your role will focus on elevating process automation across our operations.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Leverage your extensive experience (minimum 5 years) with Allen-Bradley and Honeywell systems to support our rolling mills, and production and maintenance operations.
- Innovate and enhance control systems (both hardware and software) to boost productivity, product quality, uptime, and energy conservation.
- Optimize and refine PLCs and HMIs for maximum efficacy.
- Monitor performance metrics and seamlessly embed control systems within company information frameworks.
- Extend your troubleshooting expertise to maintain and rectify process control system challenges.
- Craft technical specifications, design documents, and system architecture tailored for steel manufacturing processes.
- Successfully lead and execute automation projects, ensuring deliverables meet scope and objectives.

**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automated Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Over 5 years’ relevant industry experience.
- Deep familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs, drives, HMI solutions, and adeptness at interpreting hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic schematics.
- Proficient in using computer applications such as Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Collaborative team player with strong communication and organizational prowess.
- Analytical thinker with a penchant for problem-solving.
- Flexibility to be on standby to support operational needs as required.
