Private Events Sales Manager

The Skirball Cultural Center seeks a results-driven Private Events Sales Manager to drive significant revenue through proactive business development and high-volume event management. This role is designed for a high-performing professional responsible for securing a minimum of $350,000 in new business annually while maintaining the operational excellence required to lead 40+ events per year. Reporting to the Director of Private Event Sales, you will act as a key ambassador for the Skirball's mission, delivering service excellence in a high-touch, cultural environment.

Compensation: $75,000–$87,000 (Salary; No Commission)

Status: Full-time, Exempt

Schedule: The hospitality department functions six (6) days a week. Scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Weekend and evening flexibility required.

Responsibilities

  • Revenue Generation & Sales Growth: Achieve a minimum annual new business target of $350,000 through aggressive lead generation, strategic pipeline management, and high-conversion RFP responses.
  • Operational Excellence: Independently manage the end-to-end lifecycle of a minimum of 30 events annually, serving as the primary point of contact from initial inquiry through on-site execution.
  • Relationship Management: Proactively identify and cultivate long-term partnerships with corporate, non-profit, and private clients to establish the Skirball as a premier event destination.
  • Strategic Proposals: Create sophisticated event proposals, customized pricing scenarios, and sales presentations that maximize revenue while meeting client objectives.
  • Administrative Precision: Maintain 100% accuracy in the Momentus/Ungerboeck CRM system, tracking all contracts, revenue projections, and client communications.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with catering, facilities, AV, and security teams to ensure seamless delivery of high-profile events.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 4–7 years of proven success in hospitality or event sales, with a documented track record of meeting or exceeding seven-figure revenue goals.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Momentus/Ungerboeck (highly preferred), Social Tables, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.
  • Communication: Exceptional qualifying, negotiation and public speaking skills; ability to influence high-net-worth clients and corporate decision-makers.
  • Logistics & Speed: Ability to manage high-volume workloads with detail-oriented precision; data entry speed of at least 60 WPM.
  • Requirements: Valid driver's license for local travel and flexibility to work evenings/weekends based on the event calendar.
