Position Overview
Private Capital Risk Analysts support investment teams by identifying, measuring, and monitoring risks across private capital portfolios. The role combines quantitative analysis, financial modeling, and operational oversight to help ensure portfolio stability, regulatory compliance, and alignment with investment objectives.
These positions involve close collaboration with portfolio managers, investment operations, fund accountants, and senior risk management professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor portfolio exposures, market, credit, liquidity, and operational risks across private capital investments
Develop and maintain risk dashboards, reports, and analytical models to track portfolio risk metrics
Analyze potential downside scenarios, stress tests, and sensitivity analyses
Support due diligence on new investments from a risk perspective
Assist with regulatory and internal risk reporting for senior management and investors
Identify anomalies, trends, or concentration risks and escalate findings
Collaborate with portfolio managers, operations, and compliance teams to implement risk mitigation strategies
Contribute to process improvements and risk management best practices
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
Strong understanding of private capital markets, investment products, and risk management frameworks
Experience or coursework in private equity, private credit, alternative assets, or investment risk analysis
Advanced analytical skills and strong attention to detail
Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Python, R, SQL, or VBA is a plus
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, collaborative environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Interest in portfolio risk, fund management, and quantitative problem-solving
