Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Decoration Technician to join a growing manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain specialized equipment used to decorate plastic components, including printing, labeling, and finishing processes. You will play a key role in ensuring decorated products meet strict quality standards, customer specifications, and production goals while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
-Set up, operate, and monitor decoration equipment such as pad printing, hot stamping, silk screening, and laser marking.
-Adjust machine settings to optimize product quality and production efficiency.
-Troubleshoot and resolve decoration issues during production runs.
-Perform routine maintenance and calibration of decoration equipment.
-Inspect decorated parts to ensure compliance with customer and internal quality standards.
-Collaborate with production and design teams to ensure decoration processes meet product specifications.
-Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve processes.
-Support production planning and monitor adherence to production schedules.
-Coordinate decoration testing and evaluate new techniques or materials.
-Train and mentor technicians on equipment, processes, and safety practices.
-Participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives within the decoration process.
-Identify and help develop suppliers for decoration-related processes and materials.
Requirements
-High school diploma or equivalent.
-1-3 years of experience in plastics decoration within a manufacturing environment.
-Experience operating decoration equipment (e.g., pad printing, hot stamping, silk screening, laser marking).
-Knowledge of plastic substrates and surface preparation techniques.
-Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate specialized manufacturing equipment.
-Strong attention to detail and visual inspection skills.
-Basic computer skills for machine interfaces and production data entry.
-Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
-Understanding of safety procedures and quality standards.
Preferences
-Experience with plastic injection molding processes.
-Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO standards.
-Experience with QCDM or other continuous improvement methodologies.
-Experience conducting process audits or implementing corrective actions.
-Prior experience training or mentoring technicians.
