About Us
Concord isn't your typical consulting firm; we are an execution company with a passion for making things happen. Our mission is to help clients enhance customer experiences, optimize operations, and revolutionize their product offerings through seamless integration, optimization, and activation of technology and data.

We are purpose-built, merging the industry’s top specialty companies to amplify our Innovation Capabilities in analytics & AI, data management & engineering, UX and digital experience, and technical platform integration, automation & security engineering.

About the Role
We are partnering with a leading biotech organization to deliver seamless, compliant, and impactful digital experiences across patient and customer touchpoints. We’re looking for a Principal Experience Designer to drive vision, strategy, and delivery for a Customer Experience (CX) product suite, blending UX/UI excellence with enterprise-scale collaboration, measurable outcomes, and mentorship of designers.

In this role, you will serve as a key individual contributor and subject matter expert in a critical focus area for the organization. You’ll help define experience standards, shape product roadmaps, and bring an experimentation mindset to innovation workstreams. This role is ideal for a product/experience designer who thrives in complex, highly regulated environments and can influence across multiple stakeholder groups, as well as mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the Experience Vision: Shape digital-forward experience design standards aligned to business priorities, industry trends, and product strategy.
  • Drive Product Impact: Partner with Experience Design leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to integrate design strategy with technical feasibility and operational realities.
  • Lead Innovation: Launch experimentation workstreams to test and evolve new product features and capabilities.
  • Champion the User: Define target users, synthesize research, prioritize features, and establish clear success metrics, balancing business value with exceptional end-user experiences.
  • Own Outcomes: Plan and execute against product roadmaps, delivery milestones, and adoption metrics, ensuring measurable business impact through sustained engagement.
  • Influence & Evangelize: Communicate the value of UX/UI and CX design to senior leaders; align stakeholders across functions and resolve conflicts to advance roadmaps.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with analytics, engineering/informatics, product leaders, and global counterparts to ensure alignment and knowledge-sharing.
  • Operational Excellence: Build business cases, support budget and funding needs, define product usage and system health requirements, and uphold compliance best practices.
  • Mentorship: Coach junior designers and cultivate a culture of collaboration, quality, and design excellence.
  • Compliance Mindset: Ensure design and delivery align with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies for a highly regulated industry.

What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, operations, science, marketing, or related field.
  • 10+ years total experience with 7+ years in experience design, product design, or UX design.
  • End-to-end product ownership experience (vision, roadmap, execution, measurement).
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Strong stakeholder alignment skills and cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • Demonstrated mentorship/coaching of designers (direct or indirect).
  • Excellent communication skills to influence and drive change; proven leadership presence.
  • Experience working in agile environments or introducing agile best practices.
  • Experience collaborating with Legal, Compliance, and Privacy teams to meet governance and regulatory standards; ability to help evolve standards where needed.
  • Proven ability to innovate, experiment, and drive iteration in ambiguous contexts.
  • Strategic problem-solver who can balance near-term delivery with long-term vision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA or related graduate-level qualification) or equivalent experience.
  • Track record leading complex programs requiring strategic planning and operational execution.
  • Advanced knowledge of workflow tools, automation systems, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience building and managing a design system in a product ecosystem.
