Job Title: Family Nurse Practitioner – Contract to Hire

Location: San Antonio, TX US 78225
Pay Rate: $70.38 per hour
Schedule: 32–38 hours per week (includes every other weekend and possible holiday rotations)
Contract Length: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Job Overview

We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to provide evidence-based primary and family care to a diverse patient population in a retail clinic setting in San Antonio, TX.

In this role, you will collaborate with a dedicated clinical care team to assess, diagnose, and treat patients while supporting preventive care and chronic condition management. Providers will also assist with daily clinic operations including patient follow-up, inventory management, and opening/closing responsibilities.

Spanish-speaking candidates are highly preferred due to the patient population served at this location.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary and family care including assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and chronic condition management
• Perform routine examinations and diagnostic testing
• Educate patients on preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to maintain comprehensive care plans
• Support clinic operations including scheduling, patient follow-up, and maintaining a clean clinical environment
• Verify insurance information and assist with patient intake and payments when necessary
• Help open and close the clinic and assist with inventory management

• Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program
  • Current National Board Certification
  • Active state license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in good standing
  • Minimum 1 year of recent primary care experience preferred (family medicine or primary care setting)
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Systems (EMS)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a clinical care team
  • Willingness to obtain DEA registration during onboarding

  • Spanish-speaking ability
  • Experience working in outpatient or retail clinic environments
  • Strong communication and patient education skills
  
  

  Example Schedule (Full-Time 32 Hours)

  Week 1
  Monday: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  Wednesday: 8:30 AM – 7:30 PM
  Thursday: 8:30 AM – 7:30 PM
  Friday: 8:30 AM – 7:30 PM
  Total: 37 hours

  Week 2
  Tuesday: 8:30 AM – 7:30 PM
  Wednesday: 8:30 AM – 7:30 PM
  Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

  • This position is considered a safety-sensitive role
  • DEA registration will be required during onboarding (unless otherwise noted)
  • BLS certification must be active at time of hire
