Manufacturing company in Santa Teresa New Mexico is looking for a Press Break Operator.


SUMMARY:
Produce parts using computer numeric controlled equipment. Regular work activities include analyzing sketches and blueprints, adjusting machine settings, making sure equipment is in good condition, coordinates first part approval with Quality Control to meet customer specifications and meet customer’s schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operate press brake machine.
  • Run bend and forming operations using standard and custom punches.
  • Use a CNC controller to input information into machine.
  • Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints.
  • Checks height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments.
  • Perform complex programming using all features of the press brake.
  • Work with tight tolerances.
  • Produce parts for assembly operations.
  • Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements.
  • Program the CNC to produce new parts meeting specifications.
  • Perform spot inspections of parts.
  • Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures.
  • Complete and maintain paperwork.
  • Configure bend allowances for sheet metal.
  • Check machine for defects and repair if necessary.
  • Ensure machine is calibrated and cleaned.
  • Read drawings and blueprints
  • Provides leadership to press brake area
  • Ensures team members are properly trained. 
  • Works with Production Manager to improve efficiency of team

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High school education or equivalent with prior machine-operating experience
  • Ability to perform basic math functions including converting fractions to decimals.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend blueprints, safety, operating, and maintenance documents and procedures.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Good mechanical skills.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to obtain an industrial-powered lift truck license

Working hours are 7am to 3:30pm with lots of overtime.

Pay rate depends on knowledge and experience.
