We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Permanent Press Brake Operator to join our dynamic Engineering team. This role involves working with high-tech machining equipment, including 5-axis, mill, MIG, and sheet metal. The individual will be responsible for producing parts and tools from metal, plastic or other materials using a press brake, a computer numeric controlled (CNC) piece of equipment that makes precision bends, punches, or cuts into material.
Responsibilities:
1.Set up and operate press brake machines to produce accurate bends according to technical drawings and specifications.
2.Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine bending angles, dimensions, and tooling requirements.
3.Adjust machine settings, including tonnage, back gauge position, and bend sequences for optimal performance.
4.Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on press brake equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
5.Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances of finished parts.
6.Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job, ensuring proper alignment and safety procedures are followed.
7.Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, welding, machining, and assembly.
8.Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards and quality control procedures.
9.Conduct quality inspections throughout the production process to identify defects or deviations from specifications.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
2. Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator with `+ years in the field.
3. In-depth knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components.
4. Proficient in using 5-axis, mill, MIG, and sheet metal.
5. Able to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
6. Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
7. Strong understanding of quality control principles and procedures.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines.
