Job Description
AECOM Hunt is seeking a Preconstruction Intern to be based in Dallas, TX.
This position is expected to begin in Summer 2026.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.
+ Assist with development of a project prior to on-site construction activities
+ Cost Estimating – determine quantities utilizing a traditional 2D takeoff tool such as On-Screen Takeoff or 3D model quantities utilizing a program such as Assemble.
+ Schedule Development – review project documentation to determine scope involved to assist in creating a preliminary project schedule.
+ Logistics Planning – study characteristics of the project site to determine best approach to phasing, access, and laydown areas.
+ Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff.
+ Meets required schedules while producing quality work.
+ Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
+ Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
+ Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar field with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.
+ Candidates must have completed 2 years of study in their program.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience working for a large general contractor.
+ Previous relevant internship experience.
+ Exposure to other construction-based computer programs.
+ Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, and Outlook), as well as exposure to other construction-based computer programs.
Additional Information
+ Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
+ This position does not include relocation benefits.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $17.53/hour - $24.09/hour.
