Practice Manager - (Roseville, CA - Sacramento, CA - Folsom, CA)
Compensation: $90k to $100k DOE
Nexus HR is seeking an experienced and strategic Practice Manager to lead daily operations and support the continued growth of our specialty practice. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in healthcare operations, revenue cycle management, and team leadership, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care in an allergy and respiratory setting. This role requires a proactive leader who can optimize workflows, improve patient outcomes, and ensure operational excellence across multiple departments.
About the Job
The Practice Manager will oversee all aspects of clinic operations, including clinical support services, front office, billing, and administrative functions. Working closely with physicians and leadership, this role ensures efficient patient flow, regulatory compliance, and strong financial performance. As a key leader within the organization, the Practice Manager will also serve as an ambassador to patients, staff, and the community while driving strategic growth initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical & Operational Management
Oversee day-to-day operations of allergy and respiratory clinics, including patient intake, testing, treatment, and follow-up care
Ensure efficient patient flow, minimizing wait times while maintaining high-quality care
Optimize scheduling for physicians, nurse practitioners (NPs), and physician assistants (PAs)
Revenue Cycle & Financial Management
Manage billing operations, coding workflows, and accounts receivable (A/R) performance
Collaborate with finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve profitability and operational efficiency
Human Resources & Team Leadership
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention of clinical and administrative staff
Develop staffing models aligned with patient volume and specialty services (e.g., allergy testing, pulmonary function testing)
Coach and mentor department leads to build a high-performing team culture
Information Systems & EMR
Oversee EHR/EMR systems (Centricity or NexGen preferred) and practice management software
Ensure accurate documentation, scheduling efficiency, and reporting capabilities
Coordinate with IT vendors to resolve system issues and support system enhancements
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, HIPAA, OSHA, and specialty-specific standards
Manage malpractice, liability, and workers’ compensation insurance
Support credentialing and payer enrollment for providers
Facilities & Equipment Management
Oversee maintenance and compliance of clinical equipment (e.g., spirometry, allergy testing devices)
Manage vendor contracts, facility upkeep, and supply inventory across all locations
Coordinate clinic expansion, renovations, and space utilization
Marketing & Business Development
Support growth initiatives, including referral network development with primary care and specialty providers
Oversee updates to website, patient education materials, and clinic communications
Represent the practice in community outreach and healthcare partnerships
Leadership & Strategic Planning
Drive execution of organizational goals related to growth, patient experience, and clinical outcomes
Implement performance metrics to evaluate operational success and identify improvement opportunities
Foster a patient-centered culture focused on service excellence and quality care
Administrative & Transition Oversight
Oversee payroll, accounts payable, procurement, and administrative functions
Manage provider schedules, including call rotations and cross-coverage
Support internal events, communications, and operational coordination
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in healthcare management, preferably in a specialty practice (allergy, pulmonology, or related field)
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field required; MHA or MBA preferred
License/Certification: CPC, CMPE, or similar healthcare management certification is a plus
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, financial analysis, and problem-solving abilities
Knowledge: Allergy and respiratory clinic workflows (preferred)
Revenue cycle management, medical billing, and payer requirements
Practice management systems and EHR (Centricity or NexGen strongly preferred)
Healthcare compliance and regulatory standards
Language: English required; Spanish is a plus due to the patient population
Must be able to travel to three locations: Roseville, CA - Sacramento, CA - Folsom, CA
