As the first hire in this venture, you'll be at the forefront of establishing the company's presence in this critical sector, working alongside a talented team to deliver innovative environmental solutions for data center clients nationwide.
Required Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of data center development, construction, and lifecycle
- Strong network within hyperscalers, data center developers, and operators
- Expertise in environmental regulations such as NEPA, Clean Air Act (Title V, GHG permitting), Clean Water Act, and state-level frameworks
- Proven experience in building or leading professional services practices or working on owner/developer/operator sides of data centers
- Excellent client relationship management and business development skills
- Ability to develop and execute go-to-market strategies and effectively negotiate proposals and contracts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and regulatory permitting processes
- Self-starter with strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in multi-jurisdictional permitting and stakeholder engagement
- Familiarity with complex stakeholder environments and policy trends in infrastructure development
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university (advanced degrees preferred)
- Significant industry experience, ideally 10+ years in data center sector, environmental consulting, or related fields
- Demonstrated success in building new practice lines or business units within a professional services context
- Established network within the hyperscale, data center, power generation, or utility sectors
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel up to 50% for client engagement, industry events, and strategic meetings
- Relevant certifications related to environmental or project management are a plus
