Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
  • Experience with electric power industry standards, building codes and safety standards including NEC, ANSI, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, UL, UFC and UBC.
  • Experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
  • Experience in infrastructure design of electrical systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant fields.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • 12 years of experience in High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) infrastructure design and distribution equipment, including switchgear, transformers, protective relaying, UPS, and emergency generation systems.
  • Experience with electrical distribution, energy storage, and electrical generation technologies, including other microgrid resources.
  • Experience with designing High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), and Low Voltage (LV) systems.
  • Knowledge of data center electrical systems design and operation across HV-MV-LV power distribution, backup power, energy storage and onsite generation.

You're a visionary who optimizes for efficiencies and never stops seeking improvements -- even small changes that can make a huge impact. You generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $214,000-$298,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members on creating future data center architecture and design concepts.
  • Investigate renewable power generation, storage technologies and other Carbon Free Energy (CFE) technologies and find best ways to integrate them into the electrical system architecture.
  • Create and maintain plan of record electrical single line and layouts that will help quick implementation in the field.
  • Develop architecture and products which will form the reference design for Google Data Centers. Implement solutions that lead to fast, cost effective construction and delivery.
  • Drive required cross-functional collaboration with other teams for the adoption of latest architecture into data center designs.
