Duties and Responsibilities

The Postdoctoral Fellow will work primarily with the Center for Immigrant & Refugee Accompaniment ( CIRA ) in the School of Social Work to support immigrant and refugee accompaniment-related research projects and evaluation activities. The Fellow’s specific research related responsibilities will be developed in consultation with Dr. Maria Vidal de Haymes and may include project management, program evaluation, data management/analyses and manuscript preparation.




The postdoctoral fellowship is a one-year full-time appointment. Salary is commensurate with NIH guidelines for postdoctoral fellows (see https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/ NOT -OD-19- 036.html). Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

M.D. or PhD Required





Qualifications






+ Interest in research and scholarship related to migration studies.



+ Previous experience with working with refugees. Immigrants, and immigrant and first-generation students.



+ Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.



+ Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, including communities of color.



+ Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills, including effective oral/written communication, as evidenced by publications or grant-writing experience.



+ Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment.



+ Experience conducting mixed-methods research, including quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.







Certificates/Credentials/Licenses



+ Must have a doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field.



+ Must have defended dissertation before starting the fellowship.



+ Must be within three years of completing their doctorate.







Computer Skills



+ Proficient computer skills use statistical packages and proficiency in navigating and maintaining both qualitative and quantitative data sets.



+ Experience with SPSS and NVivo is preferred.
