Title: Post Award Manager
Work Model: Hybrid 2-3 days, New Haven County
Compensation:
$90,000 – $120,000, commensurate with experience and scope of portfolio and a comprehensive benefits package, including retirement contributions, generous time off, and access to professional development resources

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead post-award financial management, analysis, and reporting for a large and complex sponsored research portfolio
  • Provide strategic recommendations to faculty and leadership based on financial trends, funding activity, and risk assessment
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and sponsor regulations; review and approve expenditures
  • Interpret sponsor terms and conditions; manage award setup, modifications, extensions, and closeout
  • Support proposal development through financial planning and coordination with pre-award partners
  • Collaborate with internal offices, external institutions, and sponsoring agencies to ensure effective fund management
  • Prepare research administration data, reports, and presentations for senior leadership
  • Represent the organization at internal and external research administration meetings and professional forums
  • Oversee financial and administrative aspects of specialized research initiatives and donor-funded programs

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated grant accounting experience, ideally in post-award research administration or sponsored research finance
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex awards with varying funding structures and sponsor requirements
  • Strong understanding of compliance, policy interpretation, and financial controls
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable advising senior stakeholders
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with a collaborative approach
