About the Opportunity
Investment firms within the Career Launch AI network—including private equity, growth equity, private credit, and multi-asset investment platforms—may seek a data-driven Portfolio Insights Analyst to support ongoing portfolio monitoring, performance analysis, and value-creation initiatives.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Portfolio Performance Analysis & Reporting
Monitor portfolio company performance across financial and operational KPIs
Build and maintain dashboards to track trends, variance to plan, and value-creation progress
Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual results against underwriting cases
KPI Development & Insights Generation
Design and refine KPI frameworks tailored to different business models and sectors
Identify leading indicators of performance, risk, and growth opportunities
Translate raw data into clear insights for investment and operating teams
Value Creation & Strategic Support
Support portfolio initiatives focused on revenue growth, margin improvement, and operational efficiency
Partner with operating teams to assess impact of strategic initiatives
Contribute analytical support for pricing strategies, customer segmentation, and cost optimization
Investment & Firm-Level Support
Provide portfolio analytics to inform investment committee discussions and fund-level reporting
Support analysis related to add-on acquisitions, refinancings, and exit readiness
Assist with LP reporting, benchmarking, and portfolio-wide insights
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with investment professionals, operating partners, and portfolio finance teams
Support data standardization and reporting processes across the portfolio
Help improve internal analytics tools and workflows

Ideal Candidate Profile
This profile reflects the competencies commonly sought for portfolio analytics and insights-driven roles.
Education & Technical Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or related field
Strong Excel and data analysis skills; experience with dashboards or BI tools is a plus
Solid understanding of financial statements, KPIs, and performance analysis
Familiarity with valuation concepts and private market structures preferred
Experience (Formal or Informal)
Prior experience or internships in private equity, investment banking, consulting, FP&A, corporate finance, or data analytics preferred
Demonstrated interest in portfolio management, performance analysis, or value creation
Soft Skills & Mindset
Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights
Strong written and verbal communication skills
