We are seeking a Policy Administration & Systems Manager to lead and support our in-house insurance operations and system development initiatives. This role is ideal for an experienced insurance professional who has worked extensively with policy administration systems and can leverage that experience to guide the development of our internal platform.

In this position, you will serve as the subject matter expert for insurance operations, working closely with our in-house programming team to help design and refine a policy administration system similar to platforms you have used in the past. Your industry knowledge will be essential in helping developers understand how insurance processes should function within the software.

You will also help project manage system enhancements and client requests, ensuring that operational needs, regulatory requirements, and technical development stay aligned. This role acts as the bridge between insurance operations, programmers, and clients, ensuring that the system supports real-world insurance workflows accurately and efficiently.

Must be able to work on-site in our Lake Mary, Florida office. This is not a remote position.

Key Responsibilities:
Insurance Systems Subject Matter Expert:
  •  Provide guidance to our development team by sharing practical knowledge of insurance policy administration systems you have used in the past. Help translate real-world insurance workflows into functional system requirements and logic.

Operational Management:
  •  Oversee and advise on the lifecycle of life and health insurance policies, including issuance, renewals, billing processes, and complex reinstatements, ensuring operational accuracy and efficiency.

Systems Project Management:
  •  Act as a project manager for system enhancements and new feature development. Define business requirements, help prioritize development tasks, and coordinate timelines with the programming team.

Programmer Liaison:
  •  Work closely with in-house developers to explain insurance logic, contract rules, compliance requirements, and calculation methods so they can be accurately implemented within the system.

Client Collaboration:
  •  Serve as a key contact for clients, working closely with them to understand operational needs and system requests. Ensure their requirements are clearly communicated to the development team and delivered effectively.

Compliance & Process Oversight:
  •  Ensure system-generated documents and processes remain compliant with applicable Florida and federal insurance regulations.

Required Qualifications:
Certification:
  •  Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) designation required.

Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in life and/or health insurance operations.
  • Experience working with insurance policy administration systems.
  • 2+ years of experience in project management, system implementation, or a systems-facing role.

Industry Knowledge:
Strong understanding of insurance policy lifecycle processes, billing, policy administration workflows, and regulatory considerations.

Technical Collaboration:
Ability to communicate complex insurance rules and calculations to software developers and assist in translating operational needs into system functionality.
