We are seeking a Plasma Table Operator to join our growing team. This position will be responsible for setting up and operating the CNC plasma cutting table.

 Essential Functions:
  • Load and unload the burning table using a overhead crane, forklift or other lifting devices.
  • Remove the cut product from the table and stack it on pallets or other holding areas.
  • Program and operate the plasma cutter using proper gases and cutting tips.
  • Generate multiple parts nesting.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the machine while maintaining an organized workspace.
  • Perform all necessary quality checks during production and follow procedures in place for defective product.
  • Ensure timely delivery of the finished product to maintain efficient workflow between departments.
  • Work by established safety rules and good housekeeping practices.

 Competencies:
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Prior experience operating a plasma table is preferred.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Able to read and follow plans and specifications to set up the machine and cutting process (Plasma / Oxy-Fuel) correctly.
  • Work in a safe and effective manner.
  • Problem-solving/Analysis.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated.

Work Environment:
  • This job operates in a typical job shop environment. 

 Physical Demands:
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. 
  • The employee will be required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. 
  • The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • This is a full-time hourly position. 
  • Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, a 40-hour work week with the potential of some paid overtime. This is not a remote position.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED with relevant experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Post-secondary or Trade School education or 3+ years’ experience operating CNC Plasma Table Machines is preferred but not required.
