Plant Maintenance Technician

Join a robust manufacturing team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the efficiency of our plant operations. This role involves executing both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks crucial to sustaining production levels. Your focus will include optimizing maintenance schedules, promptly addressing equipment repairs, and ensuring inventory sufficiency for spare parts. Flexible work hours, including over 40 hours per week, weekends, and on-call duties, are necessary for this position.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Diagnose and repair machinery and control systems, including motor drives, downstream equipment, and chillers.
- Enhance skills through continuous learning and company training sessions.
- Coordinate with suppliers for parts and components procurement.
- Support and complete Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) records for preventive maintenance and repair orders.
- Be the first point of contact for machine troubleshooting, coordinating with Electrical Engineering for advanced support.
- Contribute to daily management goals and continuous improvement projects focused on production efficiency and workplace safety.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure equipment is safe and reliable.
**Skills and Expertise Required:**
- Competent in using electrical testing tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, and ohm meters.
- Understanding of machinery functions and production operation sequences.
- Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.
- Familiarity with NEC, UL508A, and NFPA 79 codes.
- Adherence to Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) safety procedures and arc flash protection requirements.
- Strong foundation in electrical and mechanical mathematical calculations.
- Proficiency with three-phase industrial wiring, AC, DC, and motor drives.
- Capable of troubleshooting PLC I/O and networking systems.
- Experience with motion control using servo drives and motors.
- Efficient use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
**Education and Experience:**
- High School or Vocational School Diploma required; technical training in electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years in industrial maintenance, focusing on electrical systems and controls.
- Understanding of basic PLC and drive systems beneficial.
- Experience in plastic processing is an asset.
