The Opportunity
A global manufacturing organization is building and expanding its footprint in Louisville, KY. They’re looking for a seasoned HR leader to own plant-level people strategy and day-to-day HR operations, partnering closely with production leadership to grow a high-performing workforce.
A Day in the Role
By 7:30 a.m., you’re on the floor greeting supervisors, confirming staffing for the first shift, and reviewing overnight incident logs. Mid-morning, you’re interviewing a maintenance technician, then meeting with the Plant Manager to align workforce plans with production targets. After lunch, you’re fine-tuning overtime policy guidance, closing out payroll queries, and approving updates in the HRIS. You wrap the day mentoring a new team lead and finalizing a training plan for upcoming equipment certifications.
What You’ll Own
- Design and deliver HR strategies that support plant performance objectives and headcount plans
- Lead full-cycle hiring for hourly, technical, and leadership roles; partner with supervisors on workforce planning
- Champion employee relations and ensure adherence to U.S. labor laws and regulations (EEO, FLSA, OSHA)
- Build training and development pathways that strengthen skills and career progression
- Oversee compensation and benefits administration, including payroll accuracy, overtime policies, and benefits programs
- Maintain HRIS data integrity and produce timely workforce analytics and reports
- Serve as the connective tissue between corporate HR and the local manufacturing leadership team
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of HR experience within manufacturing or industrial settings
- Deep familiarity with U.S. employment laws and compliance practices
- Proven success supporting plant operations and high-volume hourly recruitment
- Outstanding communication skills and a track record of positive employee relations
- Fluent English; Spanish or Mandarin language skills are a strong plus

- On-site role based in Louisville, Kentucky
- Occasional travel as needed
- Flexibility to support production schedules and plant operations when required
