Job Summary:
- This leader will direct plant engineering and maintenance teams, driving asset reliability, continuous improvement, and strategic capital planning. The role partners closely with plant leadership to enhance productivity, safety, and cost efficiency while maintaining compliance with food safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Job Duties:
- Lead and develop engineers, maintenance managers, and technical staff; oversee hiring, performance management, and professional development
- Design and sustain predictive and preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend asset life
- Oversee maintenance of production equipment, utilities, electrical distribution, instrumentation, and facility infrastructure
- Identify, prioritize, and execute capital and expense projects; manage scope, budgets, and timelines
- Perform equipment lifecycle and replacement analyses to support operational and financial decision-making
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using KPIs to enhance reliability and reduce waste
- Evaluate and negotiate with vendors, contractors, and service providers
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, GMPs, food safety standards, and corporate policies
- Manage departmental budgets and maintain detailed maintenance and engineering documentation
- Promote strong communication practices across plant and enterprise stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of engineering or maintenance experience within food or consumer goods manufacturing
- Prior leadership experience managing technical teams
- Background in capital project management, budgeting, environmental compliance, and PLC systems
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, architectural, and process systems
- Experience applying continuous improvement methodologies
- Proven ability to lead complex projects, manage change, and collaborate cross-functionally
