Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join our Consumer Manufacturing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who thrives in a bustling and vibrant work environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost accounting, including standard cost roll, multi-level bills of materials, direct and indirect labor, overhead rates and absorption, and product cost development. This role will also require a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, labor models, and overhead structures.

Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the manufacturing cost accounting process, including standard cost roll, multi-level bills of materials, direct and indirect labor, overhead rates and absorption, and product cost development.
  • Utilizing strong analytical skills to handle budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
  • Managing a small team of accounting professionals, ensuring they are effectively trained and developed.
  • Working closely with the manufacturing team to understand and manage production cost.
  • Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

Qualifications:
  • 6 + years of progressive manufacturing cost accounting experience.
  • Previous experience in consumer manufacturing is required.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, labor models, and overhead structures.
  • Proven experience and knowledge in Purchase Price Variance, Material Usage Variance, and labor/overhead variances.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a focus on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and standard costing.
  • Proficient in SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
