Plant Accountant
Location: Kern County
Pay: $100,000 – $110,000
We are seeking a Plant Accountant to join a well-established company in Kern County. This role will support plant operations by overseeing cost accounting, inventory, and financial reporting activities. It’s a great opportunity to work closely with operations and leadership in a hands-on, high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee cost accounting functions including standard costing and variance analysis
Monitor inventory, production costs, and inventory valuation
Support month-end close including journal entries and account reconciliations
Prepare plant-level financial reports and analysis
Partner with operations to improve cost efficiency and performance
Track and analyze manufacturing variances and key performance metrics
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
Ensure accuracy of financial data and internal controls
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or agriculture
Experience with cost accounting and inventory management
Understanding of standard costing and variance analysis
Proficient in Excel and accounting/ERP systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with operations teams
