Job Summary :

TDIndustries is seeking a Pipefitting Apprentice to support commercial new construction projects. This role assists journeyman pipefitters and foremen with the layout, assembly, installation, and testing of piping systems used for heating, cooling, steam, gas, and mechanical processes. The apprentice will gain hands-on experience while working in a safety-first, team-oriented construction environment.
 
Minimum of 2-4 years of commercial construction experience

Essential Duties:

  • Assist with the layout, assembly, and installation of commercial pipefitting systems.
  • Support installation of piping systems for HVAC, hydronic, steam, gas, chilled water, and mechanical processes.
  • Use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and pipefitting equipment in a safe and productive manner.
  • Cut, measure, prep, and handle piping materials under supervision.
  • Assist with underground, rough-in, and above-grade piping installations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow TDIndustries safety standards, PPE requirements, and task safety plans.
  • Participate in required trade and safety training to build pipefitting knowledge and skills.
  • Follow direction from journeymen, foremen, and supervisors while learning correct techniques and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support project needs.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Enrollment in or completion of craft/apprenticeship training preferred.

Experience

  • 2–4 years of pipefitting, plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical construction experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Basic understanding of construction jobsite practices and safety requirements.
  • Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools.
  • Basic math skills (measurements, pipe lengths, material counts).
  • Willingness to learn pipefitting systems, materials, and installation methods.
  • Strong teamwork, dependability, and willingness to follow direction.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced commercial construction environment.
