Pipe Support Engineer

Major Responsibilities:

• Lead or administer work of PD&P designers and drafters, including preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, and construction drawings

• Develop designs for complete and complex 3D model equipment layouts and pipe designs with minimal supervision

• Prepare or assist with material requisitions and bid evaluations

• Monitor and check work for compliance with approved PD&P design standards

• Participate in constructability reviews

• Prepare design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort

• Coordinate or make jobsite visits as required to resolve issues and interpret drawings

• Review PD&P design scope changes for project management

• Prepare progress reports as required

• Ensure PD&P system designs comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and standards

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5–8 years of relevant experience or 9–12 years of relevant work experience
  OR

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 8–10 years of relevant experience or 12–14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future

• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, physical (if onsite), and background check

• Ability to obtain a Department of Energy badge for site access

• Experience working on complex engineering problems requiring judgment and analysis

• Demonstrates sound decision-making and problem-solving skills

• Ability to collaborate and communicate with senior internal and external stakeholders
