We are seeking a skilled and motivated Surgical Nurse Practitioner PA-C to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to be a foundational member of a specialty team and play a central role in advanced surgical care within MultiCare Cancer Institute.

Assist in surgical procedures in the operating room

Practice & Clinic Information

Location: Good Samaritan Hospital (Puyallup, WA)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday (daytime hours)

Clinic/OR Time: Variable, mix of surgical assist and outpatient care

Office Setup: Shared office space with 2 dedicated exam rooms

Support Team: Includes RN, Medical Assistant, and Scheduling Coordinator

Compensation Range: 0-4 YOE $190,270
5-9 YOE $195,464
10+ YOE $195,464

Qualifications

Licensed PA-C in Washington State (or eligible for licensure)

First Assist experience or certification strongly preferred

Strong interest in surgical care and colon and rectal conditions

Position Summary
MultiCare Health System is seeking a Colorectal Surgical Oncology Physician Assistant to join our well-established, thriving and comprehensive practice. Practicing within a National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC)-accredited program, you'll work alongside colorectal surgeons and oncology teams to deliver personalized, evidence-based, and compassionate care.Responsibilities
*First assist in surgical procedures and provide perioperative care.
*Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including histories and physical exams.
*Supports surgical oncologists in both inpatient and outpatient settings, contributing to improved access, continuity, and outcomes for oncology patients.
*On call for practice and ER as needed for the practice.
*Independently manages hospital-based care and outpatients.
*Has specialized training or practice focused on surgical oncology, colorectal training preferred.
*Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with colorectal surgical oncologists.
*Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and imaging.
*Coordinates patient care with other specialties.
*Supervises RN and MAs in the treatment of surgical patients.
*Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, procedures, and recovery.
*Participate in tumor boards, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
*Document all patient interactions and clinical decisions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
*Stay current with best practices, emerging therapies, and clinical guidelines through continuing education and training.
Requirements
*Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
*Washington State Physician Assistant license by the time of employment
*DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
*Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $190,270.00 - $195,464.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
