Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the face of the organization for patients seeking laboratory services. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring patient interactions are conducted with professionalism, accuracy, and care.
Working under the direction of an area supervisor, the Phlebotomist performs clinical and forensic specimen collection while maintaining a safe, organized environment and ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draw quality blood samples from patients for laboratory testing
  • Prepare and process specimens following established procedures
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection duties
  • Maintain accurate records and required documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and laboratory protocols
  • Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients to build trust and confidence
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming environment for patients and staff
  • Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, and the public
  • Complete daily responsibilities accurately and within required timelines
Required Experience:
  • Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience
  • Experience working in fast-paced healthcare or laboratory environments
  • Experience with patient interaction and specimen collection procedures
Nice-to-Have Experience:
  • 1+ year of phlebotomy experience
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environments
  • Experience with pediatric and geriatric specimen collection

  • Washington State Phlebotomy License required
