About the Role
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, supporting patients during routine care and critical diagnostic decisions. In this role, you will collect high-quality blood samples, prepare specimens for laboratory testing, and follow established procedures to ensure safety, accuracy, and patient confidence.
Assignments may include a doctor’s office or patient service center, depending on business needs. This position requires professionalism, adaptability, and a strong commitment to process excellence, confidentiality, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the Area Supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional patient-facing environment.
  • Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signatures post-venipuncture to confirm correct specimen labeling.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records and documentation.
  • Promote a positive image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.

Job Requirements
Required:
  • Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Commitment to company policies, dress code, health & safety standards, and Everyday Excellence principles.
  • Strong decision-making skills using established procedures and sound judgment.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable).
  • Willingness to travel and cover multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrated superior customer focus, open communication, adaptability to change, and business awareness.

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent — Required
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training — Preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification — Preferred (not required in Virginia)

Work Experience
Required:
  • 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
  • Keyboarding and data entry experience
Preferred:
  • 2+ years in a Patient Service Center environment
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment
