- Monday–Thursday: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Time Zone: Central Standard Time
- Flexibility required for weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call as needed
Job Description
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization for patients seeking diagnostic services. This role is responsible for performing high-quality phlebotomy and specimen collection, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring a safe, professional, and compassionate patient experience.
The PSR II will demonstrate strong leadership behaviors, attention to confidentiality, and accuracy while working in fast-paced clinical environments such as patient service centers, physician offices, or in-office phlebotomy locations, based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing activities accurately and on time
- Draw blood samples skillfully, safely, and accurately, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
- Conduct both forensic and clinical specimen collection following established procedures
- Verify patient demographics, obtain patient signatures, and confirm specimen labeling post-venipuncture
- Maintain required records and documentation with strict attention to confidentiality
- Promote a safe, professional, and patient-focused environment
- Represent the organization positively to patients, clients, and the public
- Support coverage across multiple Patient Service Center or In-Office Phlebotomy locations as needed
Required Skills & Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections
- Ability to provide error-free work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (where applicable)
- Flexibility to travel and work variable hours with minimal notice
Preferred:
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training
- Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, and WA; preferred elsewhere)
- Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment
- Keyboarding and data entry experience
Additional Requirements

- Must exercise sound judgment and decision-making based on established procedures
- COVID-19 vaccination required
- Training locations may vary based on trainer availability
- Hospital site assignment may require additional credentialing
