Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is a patient-facing professional responsible for performing high-quality phlebotomy and specimen processing while delivering exceptional customer service. This role supports patient trust and confidence through accurate, safe, and compassionate care.
PSR IIs may be assigned to a Patient Service Center, physician office, or floating coverage based on business needs and will consistently demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and strict confidentiality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing accurately and on time
- Collect clinical and forensic specimens according to established procedures
- Verify patient identity, demographics, and specimen labeling post-venipuncture
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation
- Ensure a safe, professional, and patient-centered environment
- Travel between locations with minimal notice as required
- Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, and the public
- Comply with all company policies, safety standards, and guiding principles
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
- Ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong independent work capability with minimal supervision
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable)
- Flexibility to work multiple locations, extended hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Keyboarding and data entry proficiency
Preferred:
- Medical assistant or paramedic training
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment
- Customer service experience in a retail or service setting
- Phlebotomy certification (required only in CA, NV, and WA)
Training:
Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
