Schedule: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (PST)
Flexibility: Weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required
Job Overview
The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization to patients seeking diagnostic services. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while ensuring a safe, accurate, and compassionate patient experience.
This position requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures
• Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients
• Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing
• Maintain accurate records and required documentation
• Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of patient information
• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
• Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, and the public
Required Skills & Qualifications
Required:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Keyboarding and data entry proficiency
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
Licensure (Required):
• CPT I Phlebotomy Certification – California
Preferred:
• Medical Assistant or Paramedic training
• 1+ year of phlebotomy experience
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment
Work Environment
• Patient Service Center or physician office setting
• Fast-paced clinical environment
• Not eligible for remote work
• COVID-19 vaccination not required
