Contract Details

Position Type: Contract
Contract Duration: 5 months
Start: As Soon As Possible
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:45 PM (3-week Saturday rotation; flexibility for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed)
Pay Rate: $22.90 – $28.30/hr

Job Summary
The Phlebotomist / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization for patients seeking routine or diagnostic testing. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing samples for laboratory analysis while adhering to established procedures. The PSR I creates a professional, compassionate environment that builds patient trust and ensures accuracy, confidentiality, and safety throughout the collection process.

Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the area supervisor, the Phlebotomist will perform daily activities accurately and on time while maintaining a safe and professional environment. Responsibilities include forensic and clinical specimen collection, processing specimens according to standard procedures, maintaining required documentation, and promoting a positive image with patients, clients, and the public. This role emphasizes process excellence, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Required Skills
• Phlebotomy (pediatric, adult, and geriatric)
• Specimen collection and processing
• Patient interaction and customer service
• Accurate data entry and documentation
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
• Medical assistant or paramedic training
• Retail or service-based customer service experience
• One (1)+ year of phlebotomy experience
Additional Skills
• Organizational and time-management skills
• Professional communication
• Attention to detail and compliance

Education & Certifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Phlebotomy certification required in California
• State of Credentials/Licenses Required: CA CPT

Work Experience
• Minimum of 6 months phlebotomy experience required
• Keyboarding and data entry experience required

Training Requirement
• Minimum of 3 weeks of training in Sonoma or Healdsburg
