Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist III – Float represents the face of the company to patients who come in as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. This role is responsible for drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring that established procedures and practices are followed.
The Phlebotomist III – Float has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The position provides coverage across multiple locations and operational settings to support daily activities of Patient Service Centers, Mobile services, Long Term Care facilities, and In-Office Phlebotomy environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established practices and procedures.
  • Ensure daily activities of Patient Service Centers, Mobile Phlebotomy, Long Term Care, and In-Office Phlebotomy environments are completed accurately and on time.
  • Provide coverage across multiple locations and roles as required.
  • Maintain strong patient relationships by explaining procedures and creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, patient confidentiality, and accurate patient information handling.
  • Support high-volume practices and specialized testing environments requiring strong customer-facing communication skills.
  • Act as a coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees and assist with onboarding services for new clients.
  • Serve as a point of contact for on-site staff and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor.
  • Collaborate with multiple functions including Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT connectivity teams, Billing, and Logistics to support complex testing orders and operational needs.
  • Step in to lead daily activities and provide guidance to Patient Service Representatives (PSRs) on site when required.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume healthcare environment.
Required Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Experience working in patient service centers, medical offices, long-term care environments, or similar healthcare settings.
  • Experience with keyboarding and data entry.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
  • Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic training.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
  • At least three years of experience in a PSC/IOP environment.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.
