- Start: As Soon As Possible
- Shift: 8-hour shift between 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Pay Rate: $20.24 – 22/hr
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist Floater (Phlebotomist III – Float) serves as a key patient-facing healthcare professional responsible for collecting blood specimens and supporting laboratory testing services across multiple locations. This role ensures accurate specimen collection, labeling, and processing while maintaining a professional and supportive patient experience.

This role ensures accurate specimen collection, labeling, and processing while maintaining a professional and supportive patient experience.
The phlebotomist float provides operational coverage across Patient Service Centers, medical offices, mobile collection environments, and long-term care facilities. The role also supports staff leadership responsibilities, including mentoring team members and assisting with onboarding activities when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draw high-quality blood specimens from patients following established phlebotomy procedures.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing while ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Provide phlebotomy services across multiple locations including patient service centers, physician offices, and mobile environments.
- Maintain a safe, professional environment for patients and staff.
- Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.
- Support daily operations by ensuring Patient Service Center activities are completed accurately and on time.
- Step in to lead or support site staff when needed, including mentoring and coaching team members.
- Act as a resource for new employees and assist with onboarding and training activities.
- Serve as a point of contact for onsite staff and communicate updates to supervisors or group leads.
- Collaborate with internal teams including sales, laboratory services, IT connectivity, billing, and logistics to support complex testing environments.
- Manage multiple priorities in high-volume clinical settings.
Required Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Experience working in Patient Service Centers or in-office phlebotomy environments.
- Experience performing specimen documentation and data entry.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
- Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic training.
- Experience supporting mobile or multi-location phlebotomy services.
- Experience mentoring or training clinical staff.
