Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company, interacting directly with patients while performing high-quality blood collection and specimen preparation. This role emphasizes accuracy, patient care, and adherence to established procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for lab testing
- Maintain a safe and professional environment
- Explain procedures and ensure patient comfort and confidence
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing
- Verify patient demographic information and specimen labeling accuracy
- Maintain records and documentation
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under supervision
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service experience in a service or retail environment
- Keyboard/data entry experience
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable)
Nice-to-Have Experience:
- Experience in a Patient Service Center environment (2+ years preferred)
- Medical assistant or paramedic training
- Phlebotomy certification
